But the 66-year-old former radioman definitely was wounded during the Vietnam War.

He finally found out last year, 43 years after his military service ended — the first time he visited doctors in all that time.

New Arizona Research Director Featured in HemOnc Today

Ajay Bhatnagar, MD, MBA, a board-certified radiation oncologist, has been named research director for 21st Century Oncology’s cancer treatment centers in Arizona. The story was covered in the trade journal HemOnc Today.

Bhatnagar will oversee research operations at 21st Century Oncology’s location in Scottsdale. He also will continue to serve as medical director for 21st Century Oncology’s five locations in the Phoenix area. Bhatnagar, who has a background in biomedical engineering, has extensive experience in cancer care technologies and research.

Fort Myers Charity on Local TV to Promote Change for Change Event

Executive Director of the 21st Century C.A.R.E. foundation hosted a fundraiser on Saturday, August 6 at the local mall to benefit cancer patients. She was interviewed on WWSB ABC-7 to help promote the event. Las Vegas Physician Featured in Local Newspaper Discussing Men’s Health

Dr. Paul Treadwell with 21st Century Oncology in Las Vegas was featured in the Las Vegas Review-Journal discussing the importance of men’s health. A male patient with advanced colorectal cancer could’ve been diagnosed sooner if he went to the doctor when he first experienced symptoms.

For nine months, 51-year-old Sheldon McArthur ignored discomfort in his body. He thought it could be a number of things, such as getting older.

Individual Physicians are Teaming Up to Survive in the Modern Healthcare Market

In today’s medical market, natural selection is at an all time high. The demands and costs for physicians in private practice have skyrocketed since the 2010 signing of the Affordable Care Act. They are being pressured to use information technology, such as new electronic health record systems, and other new resources to improve patients’ wellbeing. However beneficial these resources may be, they are extremely costly. Because of this, more and more doctors are choosing to band together in Independent Practice Associations, better known as IPAs.

Essentially, an IPA is a network of physicians who remain independent, but agree to work together to contract with HMO’s or other managed care plans to improve the quality of care they provide. These collaborations can be advantageous for physicians, patients and the community at large. However, they also have their drawbacks.
